Florida. Sunshine. Eighty degrees. Horses. Ahhhhh.

Today may be my last day in Florida. Then again, maybe not... :) Here's some pics from this week!

Never a dull moment.

Oh life has been... Interesting.

Last night I was over at Katrinas for the 4-H judging team meeting. So we were sitting there, and I noticed she had a scanner. Like a police scanner to where you can hear truckers... Or anyone who has a scanner! So every time it would beep, I'd stick my head next to it to hear what they were saying.. Well after awhile I hear " Possible chimney fire on N. Lick Creek Road. I thought to myself "There's only like 4 people on the north side of that road, I wonder who it is..." Then I hear a squawk, and  "Address: 6621" My face turned all red and I looked at everyone and said "that's my house!" So I texted mom "Hey, uh, what's up?" She was pretty surprised I knew about it before she actually told me. So anyway, we're all okay, they said it was a contained floo fire. Mom said it smelled like burnt rubber. So when the firemen came in, they thought it was actually a skunk! So being the little detective that she is, mom noticed that Phoebe (our German Shepherd) smelled like death warmed over. But it was the same smell as the fireplace! So here's our new theory. Phoebe messed with a skunk over by the muck pile, it sprayed it's lovely scent, then dad brought the wood up to the porch that night. So when the wood got warmed up in the fireplace, the skunk oil started to stink... And the whole house with it. So we still don't know if it was actually a fire or not. Oh well.

So after that crappy day, today mom and I went to Target to get food for this weekend (my brother is coming into town). And she surprised me by buying me a new camera for my birthday/trip to Florida! I am pretty much in love with the thing... Here's some pictures that I took with it while mom was in various stores :) (Note: Most of these were taken either from inside the car, or out a window.. Pretty dang good if you ask me!)

If I ever write a book on newspaper box thingy's, this would be the cover picture  :)

Taken from inside the car out the windshield. It's so clear!

No, I don't have some weird ladder fetish.. I was playing with the focus :)

Playing with the focus once again...

Yep.

So I had a great accomplishment yesterday. I ran two miles solid. No stopping. I just ran. 20 minutes later... Yeah whatever, don't pick on me, it was my first solid run. But man, one mile seems like a piece of cake now! One downer I just realised, is that I wont finish my 5k training program before the actual race... But it IS a Nike training program, so they have me running 5 miles by the end of 10 weeks.. So I suppose I'll be okay. I just have to hope there wont be any major hills. But so far so good! I'm going to run one mile today, then go back to two miles tomorrow! Woot!

Mom, Hannah, and I have been planning our pink-ness for the Race for the Cure... We're thinking Pink war paint, pink shorts, pink nails, pink ribbons etc.. A whole heck of a lot of pink!

SO, I also discovered a new website.. http://www.dailymile.com/ Which personally, I am loving! So check it out!

Okay, I need to go do something productive.. Adios.

Heartland

Well I have to say that I have a new obsession. And that would be the CBC Heartland. Based off the books titled (guess!) Heartland, (Which I read all billion and two of them) it tells the story of Amy Fleming and her family as they struggle through the first few years after her mom dies in a tragic accident. Placed in the mountains of the Canadian Rockies, it is full of amazing scenery, beautiful horses, country people, and trucks. The main action in the show is Amy, her sister Lou, her Grandfather, and the stable hand Ty running the horse rescue/training center through the twists and turns of trials.

Okay... I love this show...

Another thing that REALLY struck me, was the title. Heartland. And for those of you who don't know, my word for 2011 is "Heart." Well there ya go. It really feels like stuff is lining up for the ranch.. Now to think of a name, hmm.. Maybe it should include "Heart".

My running habit has definitely improved. I have ran a total of 6 miles this week, and am going to run another couple today, and I'm scheduled to run 2 on Saturday. So I am very excited. And I've figured out my own trick. I can't think about the running. I have to think about going to Florida in 12 days, or the horse fair in April, or me in a swimsuit if I don't keep running. Then I can run forever. I just go into auto pilot.

As I said, 12 day's until Florida! I'm starting to get stuff together, travel sized stuff, finding my summer clothes. But alas, I'm going to have to buy more shorts, and preferably more tanks. All I know is I'm used to this 20 degrees and no sun. So I really hope I don't completely roast once I get there. But I'm sure it will be a blast!
