The New Additions to the Farm

Eleanor and the love bug

 

This is the farm dog of the day! This is Josie, an Australian Shepherd who lives at Katrinas. :) She's a pretty active dog as you can imagine...

Katrina threw her back out last night, so I went over and fed for her, and worked with Eleanor for a bit. Katrina has this awesome little battery powered massage-er. It looks like a lady bug, well, a kinda funny looking one.. So I used it as a simulation of clippers! She did alright, as usual, but didn't like it on her legs. But I have time to work on that..

Today at work, I worked Laureen on the ground. She was sorta crazy.. Like, on a circle when she would go on towards the barn, she would just keep going, and going. So I had to do some sort of power stance so she wouldn't pull me over! She leaped in the air, and galloped and bucked, and acted stupid. So I probably had her going in the circle for a good 10-15 minutes when she finally slowed to a trot, then I side passed her down the fence, backed her across the pasture (basically flipping out). Then I had her go on a circle again, she actually walked! She looked like a sane, friendly, calm, pony! YAY! Mission Accomplished.

Just another day at work

Whew, what a life. We took miss Loreen out for a drive, which was pretty amazingly fun! She did great for not having been driving for months.

These pictures turned out pretty good... Imagine what I could do with a NICE camrea.. Anyone want to donate one to worthy blogger?

Well, I would totally write more.. But I am running short on time, so I will write more tomorrow!

This is my bubby Tommy, and his daughter/my niece Olivia! I think I see a resemblance...

Again, I got to ride Loreen! That was interesting... We went up this CRAZY steep hill, and at the top there was a huge clearing.. I mean a good 15 acres of rolling hills. Amazingly beautiful. I am going to have to take a camera next time. But maaan, it was amazing! And She kept tripping. Like at one point, she tripped so bad she was on her knees. Jo said it was a "Seat tester" that if you can ride through that, you have a good seat. So I guess I'm good to go!

I worked with Eleanor today! We worked on the first three Parelli games. Well, the only new one we introduced was the driving game. And I think she got the basic gist of it. But I'm not entirely sure.. She just sort of looked at me like I beat her. So IDK.

For instance, Big boy is a Left Brain Extrovert. And knowing that, tells me that he is playfull, gets bored easily, he's a fast learner, very smart, and is quite exuberant! My co-workers

These are my buddies. They're Icelandic's (Except for Loreen, she's a Fjord). And I get paid to ride, groom feed, train them.. And pick of their poop... Ugh

No such luck

Oh. My. Gosh. Eleanor is soooo smart! We worked on basically everything (Picking up feet, swinging rope all over the place, lowering head, leading, giving into pressure.). And she was amazing! And so calm! When stuff ever does spook her, she doesn't do much of anything. I hope she stays like that. That'd be amazing!

So Monday, I got to ride one of Jo's Icelandics. It was really cool! Very different. And she only ride's english, so I'll get plenty of practice!

Wow, for some reason I'm really not in the writing mood. Hmm... Well, that might have something to do with the fact that I'm watching Heroe's while on the internet :) I guess I will say that tonight is the first night of horse sitting Jo's ponies! I'm gonna try to remember to take the camera. Oh well, TTYL!
