Eleanor the smarty pony

Woohoo Eleanor is a brilliant little mare. I worked on (Yes, lists help me think things through..)

  1. Friendly game
  2. Porcupine (Backing, zone 2, zone 4)
  3. Driving (zone 1, zone 2, zone 4)
  4. Leading
  5. Walking over a white feed sack thingy, and tying it to the end of the stick and waving it around.
She was totally okay with it! It was amazing... Tomorrow we're going to play with a saddle, some other random toys and probably some yo-yo game and some driving to stuff.

Jo was super nice today and gave me a parelli puzzles book. So I will now be completely entertained!

Well I suppose my goals for her by the end of next year is:
  • At least level 2, if not into three on the ground.
  • Take to a Parelli clinic (Level 3?)
  • Level 1 riding?
That's all I can think of right now. All I know is that this is my chance to test my knowledge. And to have a semi SANE horse to do it on! I swear Big Boy is ADD, ADHD, and Bipolar all in one...

"I found the source of the mysterious ticking noise! It's a pipe bomb!"

This is my bubby Tommy, and his daughter/my niece Olivia! I think I see a resemblance...

Again, I got to ride Loreen! That was interesting... We went up this CRAZY steep hill, and at the top there was a huge clearing.. I mean a good 15 acres of rolling hills. Amazingly beautiful. I am going to have to take a camera next time. But maaan, it was amazing! And She kept tripping. Like at one point, she tripped so bad she was on her knees. Jo said it was a "Seat tester" that if you can ride through that, you have a good seat. So I guess I'm good to go!

I worked with Eleanor today! We worked on the first three Parelli games. Well, the only new one we introduced was the driving game. And I think she got the basic gist of it. But I'm not entirely sure.. She just sort of looked at me like I beat her. So IDK.

For you horsey people who possibly read this.. Check this out. It is called "Horsenality" Basically finding out what Horsenality your horse has to help you in training. For instance, Big boy is a Left Brain Extrovert. And knowing that, tells me that he is playfull, gets bored easily, he's a fast learner, very smart, and is quite exuberant! So I have to do training sessions basically to entertain him, while teaching him something. So check it out! Horsenality Chart (pdf file). For more info, go to the Parelli website!

s l o w d o w n s i s t e r ...

Hey Y'all <>

Some exciting things are happening in a matter of days!!! Tomorrow Hannah is getting her braces off! yay woo hoo! She is afraid that she will have marks from her brackets (heart shaped) and I told her not to worry, because she will not look like a pirate- pirate... but a care bear pirate :p

Sunday morning our youth group is singing for church, nothing fancy, just some hymns. After that they are going to have a 100ft water slide going down the hill!!! Awesome!

After that fun, I am going to give Big boy a bath and go to the Parelli clinic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Yes it deserves that many !!!'s) It is being given by Carol Coppinger (5 star instructor) YAY!!! Her is her bio I got off the internet... enjoy!

Carol CoppingerLicensed Parelli Professional
Carol entered into Parelli Natural Horse-Man-Ship from a position as a full- time Computer Systems Analyst with 20 years experience prior to her current status as a PNH 5 Star Senior Premier Instructor, licensed to instruct since 1997. As an adjunct to her then full - time career, she competed in both English and Western disciplines, including saddle seat, barrels and poles, jumping, trail obstacle and obstacle driving. She garnered several World Championships to satisfy her goals, primarily in gaited horses, extending her training abilities to trotting horses. She excelled in young "show prospect rejects" producing world-class competitors and well-schooled trail/pleasure horses. Training to high levels, yet finding owners unwilling to make the same commitment to excellence, proved frustrating. She mounted an extensive search for a system that approached both the horse and the human. In late 1994, Carol discovered Parelli Natural Horse-Man-Ship; a system allowing all owners to develop meaningful relationships with horses, achieving any level of horsemanship they could imagine. Throughout that time, Carol studied with Pat & Linda at the ISC, attending all instructor courses/ conferences and numerous colt starting/ difficult horse and Levels courses offered. She participated as part of the Savvy Team for the Eastern, Southern, and Midwestern Success With Horses Tour and has demonstrated with Pat and Linda at Equine Affaires, Equitanas and Savvy Conferences. Currently, she teaches Levels 1, 2 ,3 & 4 clinics, camps and workshops throughout the US from Florida to Maine and West to Alaska, as well as instructing at both the Colorado and Ocala International Study Centers. Currently Carol is working closly with Pat Parelli in helping reveal his dreams and visions for the future. It is the desire of Pat & Linda to "Raise the level of Horse-man-ship worldwide" and without question Parelli is the Ultimate way to learn to Train your Horse!.

AH Summer...

Well... It is summer once again. Only for some reason this one seems to be flying by faster than most any summers I remember. For one thing... it is June... JUNE! It seems like it should still be April. But soon enough, when the August heat comes, we will all be ready for Winter. Isn't it sad how we cannot be content with what we have? When it is time for the Winter cold, we want Summer! But in the heat of the Summer, we would be happy with some of January's freezing temps.

Well at the moment I am content. FINALLY! Everything is moving along, and life is good. The schedule is a little crazy, but I would be bored without something to do.

The one thing I need to work on more, is riding my horses regularly. I have a Parelli clinic with Big boy in like two weeks! AAAAAHHHHHHHHH I am so not ready, but oh well, I can't do anything about it. The horse show in July should be okay, I need to work on Stetson with halter more too. That is his thing. He may have a jug head, but he is put together well. Big boy on the other hand... oh- uh- no comment. :)

Well I think this is good for my first post. So will write more later!
